About us
Ciaran and Andrew’s names can be found on the credits of hundreds of episodes of children’s television, winning them numerous awards including two BAFTAs, a Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Award, and a British Animation Award, and more importantly making kids of all ages laugh their heads off, all around the world.
Ciaran Murtagh and Andrew Barnett Jones first met at the Central School of Speech and Drama and formed The Black Sheep as a theatre company, touring original comedy shows nationally and internationally to critical and audience acclaim. In particular demand were their improvised storytelling shows, through which they created literally thousands of stories on the spot – giving them a unique education in what makes stories work - and what makes children laugh their heads off!
A performance on CBBC’s The Slammer led to them writing scripts for the show, and after that there was no stopping them. Nowadays they're in constant demand as writers and head writers on a wide variety of children’s television for all ages, across multiple broadcasters and production companies. They are delighted to share their passion for comedy and storytelling with young audiences everywhere.
